WILL OR REVOCABLE LIVING TRUST
“Leave a Legacy”-- A Bequest through your Will or Living Trust

If you are not in the financial position to make a current gift because you don’t want to outlive your assets, want to have a secure “rainy day” fund, want to ensure your children are cared for, or are concerned about generating enough current income, you might consider how you could leave a future gift.

Legacy gifts offer you the flexibility to change your gift in the future and also provide a gift to Coeur d'Alene Homes after you are sure your lifetime needs are met. You can choose to leave a specific dollar amount, specific property, or a percentage of your estate to Coeur d'Alene Homes. You can also name Coeur d'Alene Homes as a contingent beneficiary, which ensures your primary beneficiary (i.e., spouse or child) is taken care of if he/she is still alive at your death.

IMPORTANT NOTE: It is important that you refer to the proper legal name of Coeur d'Alene Homes when remembering this organization in your will. Please refer to the “Coeur d'Alene Homes Inc." in your documents. Coeur d'Alene Homes' federal Tax ID Number is 82-0201589.

SAMPLE LANGUAGE FOR AN UNRESTRICTED GIFT:
“I give _________* to Coeur d'Alene Homes, Inc., an Idaho non-profit corporation, to be used for the programs and for such purposes as the Board of Directors of Coeur d'Alene Homes, in their discretion, deem appropriate.”
SAMPLE LANGUAGE FOR A RESTRICTED GIFT FOR A SPECIFIC PURPOSE
“I give _________* to Coeur d'Alene Homes, an Idaho non-profit corporation, to be used in support of [the particular purpose]**. If at any time in the judgment of the Board of Directors of Coeur d'Alene Homes it is impractical or impossible to carry out this purpose, then the Board of Directors of Coeur d'Alene Homes may use my gift for such other purposes that are consistent with my interests and intentions."

*Gifts may include a specific dollar amount, specific property, a percentage of your estate (i.e. "20% of my estate") or the "residue" (remainder of your estate).
**Gifts may be restricted to a variety of specific purposes, including:
• Charitable care for very low income Assisted Living residents
• Charitable care for very low income Alzheimer's/dementia residents
• Scholarship fund for continued education of healthcare staff
• Furnishings and equipment for facility
• Activity supplies and expenses
• Endowment fund

Please contact Frances Drake, Director of Development, at 208-664-8119 if you would like to structure your gift in some other meaningful way.

Thank you for considering a bequest to benefit Coeur d'Alene Homes!
