'The Courtyard' - A Memory Care Community

Coeur d'Alene Homes is proud to include "The Courtyard" for the special needs of persons experiencing the effects of dementia and Alzheimer's disease. The memory care area consists of beautifully landscaped outside areas for walking and casual visiting, decorated interior areas, a separate kitchen, comfortable sitting areas and continuous and secure walking corridors that loop throughout the whole of the facility.

"The Courtyard" is a facility unto itself, where persons experiencing memory loss interact with staff members who are specifically trained in Alzheimer's, dementia, and other related areas to address the needs, cares and concerns of this population. Families and residents are invited to personalize surroundings with mementos to rekindle memories. Personal biographies are gathered to support a resident's values, preferences, routine, life stories, traditions and beliefs. We value moments of meaning in the present rather than struggle for reality. Our common areas and therapy kitchen include memory stations, objects and activities that surround residents with familiar sights, sounds and memories. While mealtime, activities, entertainment and health care are all closely supervised, residents are encouraged to live freely and fully within this safe and secure environment.
